Ed's spaceTry not to hit the ground at all! May 18 Linden Blvd represent represent!I spent the last 2 days with New York city Animal Control Officer Eli Velasquez. I'm in New York... well, Queens, shooting season 2 of Ed's Up for OLN in Canada. From a pet store eviction where we had to remove hundreds of rats, to a snarling, snapping, blood soaked springer spaniel who had bitten his owner over twenty times. The dogs name was... wait for it... "Happy Boy". What a job! Next, Biohazard cleanup, and then we fly down to Louisiana on Sunday. Aside from a handful of BnL shows in June, I'll be shooting Ed's Up for the next 2 months. So, you may see me somewhere, but I may be butchering cows instead of guitar chords. May 02 Aloha (alternate meaning)Hmmm… I must leave this island paradise today. I visited the Spa yesterday. I signed up for a facial. I was sorta disappointed… it’s not like the movies. I don’t have too much to say other than this one thing I know for sure (Thank you Oprah and Gene); I am NOT on Facebook. I’ve had a bunch of people tell me my Facebook account or profile or whatever is spamming them. Well, dear readers, I am not on Facebook. Unless you can be on Facebook without ever having visited Facebook… I am not there. I did some more voice work as Capt Butch Flowers for the fabulous Red vs Blue folks so check them out at www.redvsblue.com if you like really excellent things. I return to Toronto to learn to fly with floats on my plane… yikes. Just when I’d gotten really comfortable in the cockpit, I had to go and slap Wipline 3450s on it. Landing on water will be very cool though. April 29 AlohaOk, it's really nice here. We're down in Hawaii playing a private event for Direct TV. Never sell out to the man... unless the man is in Maui! Actually, I really enjoy these private corporate events. A show, for me, is all about relating to an audience, and entertaining them. (That was more commas than necessary, no?) Doing a show for a bunch of people who work at the same place is good fun. They all have something in common, and they’re there to have a great time. It’s all on the bosses dime. A good time was had by all. We’ve been down here for a few days, so I’ve had a chance to do some SCUBA diving, and snorkeling. Did I mention it’s really nice here? It is. I’ve never seen so many giant sea turtles. They’re magnificent. You don’t have to go anywhere either, you can just snorkel in off the beach. Today I did the coolest/creepiest thing. I was down about 40 ft beside a reef with some cleaner shrimp on it. I put my face next to the reef, and opened my mouth, and the shrimp went right IN MY MOUTH and cleaned it out. It was excellent, and freaky. I’ll try to post the clip. Hey, if you don't already know. I just put up a myspace site. It's www.myspace.com/edrobertsonbnl I'm trying to post the same stuff here, but in case you're a myspace type... I'm there too! April 03 Louise, How nice to see YOU again.Ok, first of all I need to correct some terminology. Louise has informed me, she's not a cross dresser, she's a Transsexual, and she's most certainly not OLD!!! My apologies Louise, it's always great to see you at the shows. April 02 Manchester... how nice to see you again.I realized this morning (well, I guess it was afternoon by the time I hauled my arse off the bus) that I've been carrying my camera around England for over a week now, and have not managed a single photo. I had a great walk around London on Saturday with an old friend. We met at St. Paul. I was a little nervous about popping in for fear of being smote... I've been quite a fan of all this Jesus Family Tomb hubbub after all! We set off from there across the Millennium bridge, past the Globe, and along the south side of the river to an amazing market. I ate the best olives ever, and a pork and stilton burger that was fantastic. Great cheeses, and all manner of food, and drink. It was great. From there we walked along the river to Covent Garden, through Picadilly, and down to Victoria Station. 5 1/2 hours of walking in total... it was great. We then took the train out to Twickenham to see Boothby Graffoe do a set at the Bearcat comedy club. He was great, and the opener was great... unfortunately, the 6 comics in between were somewhat unfunny. Sunday saw us driving down to Southampton, and now we're here in Manchester. I don't think I'll ever think of Manchester without remembering a lovely old cross dresser who was at the front of a bunch of shows around here. She waited outside the gig after the Manchsester show and then said in a very gruff and gravely voice "Ilove the line "Changed in to my sister's clothes"... cause that's just what I did!!" Perhaps she'll make it out again tonight.
